Meet some of our great members:

Goldie Edwards
"Enthusiastic novice" describes my writing experience.  After a lifetime purchasing enough novels to single handedly support numerous authors, I have decided to take time in my busy life as a parent and teacher to learn more about the writing craft and write down some of my own stories.  Stay tuned!

Lisa Snider

I became a HeRA member in 1994. During my membership I have learned a wealth of information about writing, speaking in public and things about myself i did not realize I could do. I have served as By Laws Secretary and President through out the years. but the most interesting part of being a HeRA and RWA member is the people i have met, the places writing has taken me and the courage it has brought me.

Cindy Tady - HeRA Vice President

I will write anywhere, standing in line at the grocery store, at dental appointments or walking the dog.  Although when walking my Labrador, I usually just keep repeating what I want to write until she stops dragging me through the neighborhood and I can get to my computer!

Dyann Barr

Pro Pin winner

I started writing because I thought "How hard could it be?" . Duh!! I love writing, even when I hit the dreaded "dry spell of doom". My characters argue with me. (I get enough of that from my two cats and my husband, thank you!) The lead me places I had not planned on going. I love all of them. Even the vile ones. It's the only time you can kill someone and not go to jail.

My hobbies include belly dancing and sewing. I am a retired personal chef and a new Grandmother. Did I mention I have two cants that employ my husband and I as hired help.

Regina Rogers

First place winner 2007 Show Me The Spark Contest with entry
"A Gamble on Love."

Regina was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri.  At the age of 19, she married and moved to Italy where she lived for three years with her Army Paratrooper husband.  She was able to travel all over Continental Europe while stationed there.  After their return to the United States, they enjoyed many fantastic assignments all over the country, including the Army Language School in Monterey, California.

The mother of four children and four grandchildren, she now stays busy with her twelve year-old daughter and church activities.

Her motto in life is "God first and everything else will fall into place" and she hopes to spread a positive Christian message through her writing.

Regina is polishing her Historical Inspirational Romance manuscript for submission.  Stay tuned for results!

Cheri Thomas-Lightner

I was born and raised a Buckeye, moving to Kansas in 1998.  Now that my daughter is on her own, I keep busy with my job, part-time school, a part-time interior design business I recently started, reading, writing, redecorating my house, and taking Speed Vacations.  I think the best movies are Classic screwball comedies.  My favorite way to relax is to hop in the car with no plan and just drive, drive, drive, not knowing where I'll end up.  (This is completely different from Speed Vacationing but just as much fun!)
